Open Source Fluxx

Looney Labs is an awesome company. Not only do they make Fluxx, but they also make blank Fluxx cards. In February of 2001, my brothers and I sat down and drew up a bunch of new cards. Since then, I have been testing them with friends. I haven't decided if they should replace cards, or add to the deck, but are leaning towards shuffling them in, which can make the game better for a larger number of players.

Here are the best 17 of the new cards.

Keepers:

Talk, Star -- pretty self-explanatory.

Goals:

Down with Taxes (put taxes in the trash to win)

pyramid + chocolate = Toberlone (tm)

talk + tv = talk show

pyramid + money = pyramid scheme

milk + star = milky way

death + star

TV + star

New Rules:

Coffee Bonus: player may draw an extra card if the player has the coffee card in play. If the extra card is drawn, it must be played immediately (does not go into player's hand).

Secret Agenda: Every player may place a goal face-down in their play area, as part of their turn. If a player completes their hidden goal, they win. Discard "Co-op" if in play.

Co-op: All players show their hands; as soon as a goal is met by any combination of players cards, everyone wins. Discard "Secret Agenda" if in play.

Time Limit 1: Players have one second to make their turn, plus one additional second per card to be played. Otherwise the action portion of their turn is ended.

New Actions:

Trash Time Limit

Shuffle Hands

Reverse: Play reverses direction

Interrupting Cow: This card may be played during any player's turn, allowing the holder to interrupt the current turn and take a complete turn. Play resumes with the player who was interrupted. (This is based on the old knock-knock joke: "Knock Knock," "Who's there," "Interrupting Cow," "Interrup--" "Moo!")

Comments

For obvious reasons, "Time Limit 1" is a bad card to use with new players. "Co-op" has created some debate because a few players really don't like this card. But that's their problem, isn't it?

Additions

Additions and comments are appreciated. I have submitted some of the above suggestions to Looney Labs, but since they have such a great deal on blank Fluxx cards, why not make up your own?
